Students will serve as agents who provide the spies with vital information as they learn the anatomy of the eye and how the iris, pupil, retina, rods, cones, optic nerve and brain are involved in vision. Vision correction is discussed, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and the importance of comprehensive vision examinations. The four major eye diseases, macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy are also discussed. To schedule a doctor contact the OOA.
Grades 9-12: “Government Operation Optics Development"
In this individual, online curriculum students have recently been offered a job with the United States military in the Research & Development Department. R&D’s latest objective is to develop a vision aid device that can operate in the water, air and on land. In order for this dream to become reality, much research is necessary. Students will analyze vision to determine what components this new innovation must possess in order to have top-notch visual capabilities. Students will learn about eye anatomy, the visual process, vision disorders, and the future of eye care as they gain an understanding of the visual process. Curriculum is available online in the Student section.
